Taylor & Joe’s Shoreby Club Wedding in Late July | Cleveland Wedding Photographer & Videographer

Taylor and Joe’s late-July wedding at Shoreby Club unfolded with a quiet confidence that shows up in every frame. From the beginning, their day carried a sense of ease—elegant, grounded, and deeply connected to place. Lake Erie stretched endlessly behind them, the light softened by clouds, and everything felt intentionally unhurried.

Serving as both their wedding photographer and videographer allowed me to document the day as it naturally moved—still moments and motion living side by side, each strengthening the other.

A Shoreby Club Wedding with Lake Erie as the Backdrop

The Shoreby Club is timeless. Its stone architecture, manicured grounds, and lakefront terraces create a setting that feels both refined and organic. On this particular afternoon, the sky remained muted and pale, letting the focus rest fully on Taylor and Joe.

Their ceremony was set outdoors, overlooking the water. White chairs lined the lawn. The lake sat calm behind them. Midway through, a large storm rolled in—dark clouds gathering, the air shifting—but the rain held back. Taylor and Joe completed their ceremony just before the weather changed, exchanging vows beneath a dramatic sky that added depth without distraction.

It was one of those moments where nature feels like a participant rather than an obstacle.

Portraits Shaped by Wind, Light, and Stillness

The portraits that followed are some of my favorites of the year.

The overcast light created softness and consistency, allowing texture and emotion to stand out. Taylor’s veil caught the breeze repeatedly, wrapping around her shoulders and floating behind her as she moved. Joe stayed close—steady, calm, attentive. There’s a rhythm to these images. Movement without chaos. Intimacy without performance.

Several portraits along the stone balustrade and near the shoreline highlight their connection to each other and to the space. At times they walked hand in hand, facing opposite directions but moving together. At others, they stood still—quiet, reflective—letting the moment breathe.

These photographs didn’t require much direction. They simply required trust.

Elegant Details and Natural Emotion

Taylor’s gown featured delicate beading and clean lines that photographed beautifully against the Shoreby Club’s stone exterior. Her look was timeless, understated, and confident. Joe’s classic black tux grounded the aesthetic, allowing their connection to remain the focal point in every frame.

One of the most striking moments came beneath Taylor’s veil, the lake and marina softly blurred behind them. The light filtered gently through the fabric, creating an intimate pocket of stillness—exactly the kind of moment that translates seamlessly across both photography and film.

A Wedding Day That Stayed Present

When the rain finally arrived, it came after the ceremony. Guests transitioned indoors. The celebration continued. But the heart of the day had already happened—unrushed, uninterrupted, and fully felt.

Taylor and Joe never tried to outpace the weather or control the timeline. They stayed present. That presence is what made the imagery so honest and enduring.

Photographing and Filming Weddings at the Shoreby Club

The Shoreby Club remains one of Northeast Ohio’s most compelling wedding venues for couples who value atmosphere, elegance, and connection to the landscape. Its lakefront setting offers endless opportunities for storytelling—especially when couples allow the day to unfold naturally.

Taylor and Joe’s wedding is a reminder that some of the most meaningful images come from calm, trust, and the willingness to let the moment lead.
